Google Plus yang baru berusia tiga minggu mulai kehilangan pesonanya. Jejaring sosial besutan Google yang diperkirakan akan menyaingi Facebook ternyata justru ditinggalkan penggunanya.
Berdasarakan penelitian yang dilakukan perusahaan data analisis Chitika, Selasa (11/10), banyak dari pengguna Google Plus mulai meninggalkannya. Ketika situs yang pertama go public, peminatnya dilaporkan telah meningkat 1.200 persen besar. Namun, presentase pengguna Google+ mulai memudar terus menerus[ baca: Google Plus Ancaman Serius Facebook].
"Tampaknya meskipun saat muncul peminatnya tinggi, beberapa dari mereka melihat alasan untuk meninggalkannya, "kata Chitika, Rabu (12/10).
Menurut laporan, ada dua alasan mengapa Google Plus ditinggalkan. Pertama, ada banyak orang di luar sana yang tertarik dalam jaringan sosial di tempat pertama. Kedua, situs tersebut kekurangan fitur asli yang membuatnya berbeda dari situs jejaring sosial lainnya.
Chitika menunjukkan bahwa Google telah membuat beberapa langkah untuk diversifikasi layanan dengan memperkenalkan Hangouts, dan menggabungkan mesin pencari ke dalam jaringan sosial. Namun hal itu tampaknya belum cukup.
"Mungkin jika Google saat ini dapat mempercepat laju inovasi mereka dalam menawarkan jejering sosial mereka, Google+ bisa menjadi alternatif yang kompetitif untuk menekuk rivalnya, Facebook," kata Chitika.(TGdaily/MEL)
